EXHIBITION · The Relevance of Gaudí: Visions from Participants in RCR Workshops for the Sagrada Família and Its Surroundings

La Sagrada Família has been, for nearly a century and a half, the most ambitious project in the city of Barcelona. Today, after reaching its maximum height with the completion of its towers, a new phase begins: to consider its horizontal development and its relationship with a city that has grown and transformed around it over time. The RCR Summer Workshop has worked on this question for four years, deepening both its understanding of Barcelona and of the basilica itself, to rethink the relationship between the two. The exhibition presents three projects that, each reflecting on a specific aspect of Antoni Gaudí’s architecture, propose three possible forms of urban integration.

VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE · Let’s Begin to Discover Space

“Let’s Begin to Discover Space” is the launch of a virtual reality exhibition co-created by the extended reality content studio Layers of Reality and RCR arquitectes, placing space at the heart of both disciplinary and transdisciplinary exploration. It treats space as a vital medium for people, enhancing its perceptual, experiential, and investigative dimensions. The project offers a real-time interactive experience where multiple users explore what space is and how it is created.

Layers of Reality was founded in 2017 as a leading studio specialising in extended reality content production. In 2019, it opened its flagship creation and exhibition centre, IDEAL Barcelona; in March 2022, it inaugurated MAD (Madrid Artes Digitales) at Matadero Madrid; and in March 2024, Bombas Gens Centre d’Arts Digitals in Valencia. Among the most notable productions by Layers of Reality are Klimt, the Immersive Experience (with Exhibition Hub); Frida Kahlo: The Life of a Myth (with Frida Kahlo Corp.); Dalí Cybernetic (with the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation); The Last Days of Pompeii; Tutankhamun: the Immersive Experience; The Legend of the Titanic and Cleopatra (with Madrid Artes Digitales); Sorolla: A New Dimension; Jules Verne 200; Goya Universe; and Leonardo versus Michelangelo, some of which can currently be seen around the world.
