Experiencies
We share the experience of Ariadna Polo, participant in the Photography Workshop of the RCR Summer Workshop 2025, thanks to the Arquine Scholarship and under the guidance of renowned photographer Hisao Suzuki.
With her sensitivity and keen observational skills, Ariadna has explored the subtle dialogue between architecture, light, and landscape that shapes the spirit of the workshop. Her perspective has captured moments in which the built space is transformed through light, revealing new readings of the territory.
An immersive process that highlights photography as a tool to interpret, understand, and inhabit architecture. Ariadna’s experience is a strong example of the creative potential that emerges when learning, inspiration, and talent come together in a shared research environment.

Aim
The aim is to expand theoretical and practical knowledge about photography in the representation of space and architecture, starting from the approach to the work of RCR Arquitectes and the photography of Hisao Suzuki. The exercises combine reflection on the work process and its implementation from a conscious approach to space and everything that surrounds us, thus contributing to the awakening of the senses and stimulating the creation of communicative, adaptable images to the new digital formats and social media trends, and that make us experience, want to touch, listen and be in this place.
We will delve deeper into interdisciplinarity, integrating participants from the Photography workshop into the groups of the Architecture and Landscape workshop who will contribute to their projects the ability to communicate with suggestive images that transmit atmospheres and intentions.
Program

The workshop takes a transdisciplinary approach combining architecture, landscape, and visual arts, fostering cooperation and mutual learning.

Book Presentation · When is there a diagram? The meaning of the architect’s “papers” · Justyna Morawska
What is a diagram? Attempts to answer this question lead to reformulating it: When is there a diagram?
The book explores the notion of the diagram through four dichotomies: appearance or function? image or diagram? identity or correlation? law or rule?
Between philosophical inquiry and architectural introspection, answers begin to emerge. Conversations with Ramon Vilalta and a close reading of the studio’s projects make it possible both to grasp the notion of the diagram and to appreciate the sensory, intellectual, and methodological scope of the work of RCR Arquitectes.
